Present activities
Dr Corso is nationally and internationally recognized as a clinical expert in airway management and the perioperative management of sleep apnea patients. Clinically, Dr. Corso is active in providing anesthesia for elective and emergency surgical procedures, including pediatric cases. He also serves several administrative roles at AUSL Piacenza, Guglielmo da Saliceto Hospital, such as operating room medical director, medical director of Intensive Care Unit, departmental medical education officer, and medical director of the Difficult Airway Program.
Research fields
Dr. Corso’s academic interests focus on improving outcomes in the perioperative period, especially for patients with obstructive sleep apnea. He has co-authored over 200 publications, covering multitude of topics including education and management of the difficult airway (advanced use of extraglottic devices, use of videolaryngoscopy, invasive techniques for airway management), pain management and process improvement in perioperative care.
