Dr. Sonia Vaida is a Professor of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine, at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Penn State College of Medicine, Hershey, Pennsylvania, USA.
Dr. Vaida has earned her medical degree from Victor Babes Medical School and completed her residency in anesthesiology at Bnai-Zion Medical Center, Technion, Haifa, Israel. Before joining the Department of Anesthesiology at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center she served as an attending anesthesiologist at Bnai-Zion Medical Center, Haifa, Israel.
Her academic efforts have resulted in multiple peer-reviewed publications and book chapters mainly in the field of her expertise: airway management and obstetrical anesthesia. She gave numerous lectures nationally and internationally.
Her current priorities are to advance the science of anesthesiology through research, by mentoring young anesthesiologists to launch successful academic careers of their own.
