Dr Anay Kulkarni is Consultant Neonatologist at St. George’s Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, London and Honorary Consultant in Paediatric Cardiology at Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS Foundation Trust, London, UK. He is executive committee member of NEOFOCUS group a special interest group with British Association Perinatology and leads Guidelines and Framework group.

After completing undergraduate and structured Postgraduate Paediatric training at Mumbai University, India, he gained further training in Neonatology and Paediatric Cardiology in London. Dr Kulkarni was awarded European Certification in Congenital Heart Disease Echocardiography, by the European Association of Cardiovascular imaging (EACVI) in 2016 and continues to be accredited with EACVI. He is an expert and teacher in Neonatal echocardiography and has performed over 3000 neonatal echocardiography assessments. He leads the Neonatal Cardiology Service at St. George’s Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

His research interest in neonatology includes neonatal cardiology comprising of hemodynamic assessment, evaluation of Patent Ductus Arteriosus, Pulmonary Hypertension and Functional Echocardiography and have published work in high impact peer reviewed journals. He led development of the Point Of Care Ultrasonography (POCUS) Programme and POCUS fellowship at St. George’s Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. He is a faculty member for various neonatal Echocardiography and POCUS courses/workshops conducted in UK.
