Tibor Tot is associate professor of pathology at Uppsala University, consultant pathologist and cytologist, former head of Department of Pathology and Cytology Dalarna, Falun, Sweden, senior researcher with focus on breast pathology, member of international guideline groups, author of related textbooks, invited speaker on international meetings. He has more than 35–year experience in pathology with breast pathology as his main field of interest. As author/co-author/editor he published six textbooks, over 20 book chapters, and more than 100 peer-reviewed journal articles focusing mainly on breast pathology and radiological - pathological correlation of breast lesions that were cited in the literature over 7000 times. He is frequently invited speaker on international and national meetings, congresses and courses all over the world and has had more than 600 presentations on this topic. He is past chair of the European Society of Pathology Breast Working Group, Swedish representative in the European Working Group for Breast Cancer Screening Pathology, long-time faculty member in the European School of Pathology, one of the scientific directors in the European School of Oncology and gold medal laureate of the International Society of Breast Imaging 2017. His aims are to further develop the unique approach in breast cancer diagnostics that has been established in Falun, Sweden, during the last decades, to summarize the results of this approach and publish them in scientific journals, search after new methods for diagnosing breast carcinoma and to validate them, to spread this knowledge and experience in form of presentations on national and international meetings, publications, textbooks, and in form of supporting young researcher and practicing members of the breast team.
