Dr. Marginean completed her Anatomic and Clinical Pathology residency at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ, followed by dual fellowships in GI/Liver Pathology at Yale University and Cytopathology at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX.
Her academic journey led her to Ottawa Hospital, where she served for 14 years and rose to the rank of Professor of Pathology at the University of Ottawa. During her tenure, she held numerous leadership roles at the local, provincial, and national levels.
Currently, she is the Director of the GI/Liver Pathology Fellowship Program and Director of GI Research at Baylor St. Luke’s Hospital, while also holding a Professor appointment at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX.
Her research focuses on biomarkers in GI cancers and, more recently, medical liver disorders. She is a frequent invited speaker at conferences worldwide and has published extensively in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals.

Dr. Mărginean a finalizat rezidențiatul în Anatomie Patologică și Patologie Clinică la St. Barnabas Medical Center, New Jersey, urmat de fellowship-uri în Patologie Digestivă/Hepatică la Yale University și Citopatologie la MD Anderson Cancer Center.
A activat timp de 14 ani la Ottawa Hospital, unde a devenit Profesor de Patologie la University of Ottawa, ocupând multiple funcții de conducere. În prezent, este Director al Programului de Fellowship în Patologie GI/Hepatică și Director al Cercetării GI la Baylor St. Luke’s Hospital, precum și Profesor la Baylor College of Medicine.
Cercetările sale se concentrează pe biomarkerii în cancerele digestive și bolile hepatice. Este lector invitat frecvent și autoare a numeroase publicații în reviste de prestigiu.
