Simona Stolnicu is a professor of pathology at University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Sciences and Technology (UMFST) Targu Mures, Romania. She has a special interest in gynecologic and breast pathology and cytology and in particular cervical pathology. She graduated Medical School and pathology residency in Romania, followed by subspecialty training at MD Anderson Cancer Center (2008-2009), Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (2010, 2015, 2016), University of Granada (2007) and University of Trieste (2009, 2010). She authors over 170 peer-reviewed scientific publications and 30 medical books as editor and/or main author (including the current WHO 2020 and upcoming 2026 Blue Book on Tumors involving Female Genital Tract). She is the Past-Chair of the Gynecologic Pathology Working Group (European Society of Pathology- ESP). She is a member of the Board of Directors, International Society of Gynecological Pathologists (ISGyP) and a member of ISGyP Global Advisory Network. She is a member of the expert panel of International Collaborative on Cancer Reporting (ICCR) Carcinoma of the Cervix dataset. She was involved in the organization of all sessions focused on Gynecologic Paythology at the ESP congress during 2017-2021.
